FAQ
How do I know when new games and models are published?
The Roadmap page.
The News page (and its RSS and Atom feeds) has the new game, updates and site's changes
What is Pardall Games?
An archive of assets from PS1 and N64 games. It's here for archival, preservation, reference and study: to see how the models, levels and effects of that era were built, assembled, composed. Compare them in 3D and look at their textures and animations. More on the About page.
Can I contribute to the website with my own models and textures?
I appreciate the offer, but no. I don't accept asset contributions, there's too many variables involved, but I do accept help with labeling and mislabeled assets.
You can also help out by making a donation :)
Does the site make money?
There are no commercial intentions: Pardall Games is free. Donations are welcome, and they only go towards the hosting, the site's maintenance and more game extraction and preservation work. Learning about how each game works, then creating the tooling to extract extract them, and after that manually curating and cataloguing these assets is a momumental task.
Who owns the models?
The models, textures and animations ripped from games belong to the companies that made and published those games. Pardall Games doesn't own them and can't give you any rights to them. Game and company names are trademarks of their owners, and the site isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Do the companies know about this site? Did you get permission?
No permission was asked or given. The content of the games are here out of appreciation for these games: to study how they were made and to keep them around for the future, not to take credit for them. None of the assets here are sold, and no company endorses the site. If you own something shown here and don't want it here, the DMCA page says how to have it removed (an informal request is enough).
Can I use the models in my own project?
It depends on the project:
- Commercial, in any way: no. If you sell it, run ads in or around it, have in-app purchases, crowdfund it, or make money from it in any other way, you can't use these models. They are copyrighted works and only their owners can allow that, in writing.
- 100% free and non commercial: that's between you and the rights holders. Fan games, mods, non monetized videos, study and practice are what this kind of archive has always been used for, but the owners' rights still apply. Pardall Games can't license anything to you.
- Stores: a game on Steam, the App Store or Google Play is a formal release, even when it's free. Don't put ripped models in a released game.
- Study and reference usage: perfectly fine.
How should I credit?
If you use something here in a non commercial project:
- Credit the owner of the game first (e.g. "Mega Man Legends models by Capcom").
- A link to Pardall Games is welcome (optional):
Example:
Models and Animations extracted by Alfred Baudisch, available at Pardall Games https://library.pardallgames.com
Can I download the models?
Downloads are not available yet. If you want to download models, get them from Models-Resource.
Where do the models and assets come from?
My own PS1 and N64 extraction and analysis tools: they read the games' own files (models, textures, animations, videos) and converts them to modern formats (GLTF and Blender).
The rips were converted to show in the browser (glTF, unlit, the textures as they were). Some were cleaned up (scale, facing, parts split), nothing was redrawn.
Something is wrong or missing
Wrong game, wrong name, a broken model, wrong tags, missing tags? Use the "Report Error" button in the model's own page.
The game has too many controls, are there shortcuts?
See the Shortcuts page or press ? anytime.
What is the theme Pardall 90s?
It's from my childhood and teenage years: I had a ROMs and gaming news website in Brazil, PardallGames. You can still see it in the Web Archive: pardall.com in 2001. The logo is the original one. If you prefer something else, change the theme in the "More" menu.
